Six Things to Consider before going for Dairy Automation
Today, more people around the world live in cities than in rural areas. The World Health Organisation estimates that by 2030, 6 out of every 10 people will live in a city, and by 2050, this proportion will increase to 7 out of 10 people. The explosive growth of cities and the rapid formation of a large global middle class mean that the consumption of value-added products such as dairy is set to increase dramatically over the next few decades.
Ensuring that global milk production can meet future demands means we need to find even more ways to produce dairy products like milk and other foods more efficiently. The key is sustainability and taking a long-term view of food production in terms of the reduction of environmental impact and also encouraging the economical stability needed to run a business in a competitive market such as food production.

General Questions - Flashcards (1)
Here it is another initiative by epc-school. Flashcards are displayed below. Try answer these in comment section. Correct answers will be displayed tomorrow's blog-
Q1: Most commonly used algorithm for digitally executing PID control; the result of taking the difference between two successive iterations of the position algorithm.
Q2: Device for detecting the presence or absence of bulk solids.
Q3: Refers to the feedback controller in the outer loop whose output sets the setpoint for the inner loop controller.
Q4: Device that measures the relationship between electrical resistance and temperature.
Q5: System in which only a number of states are allowed. In binary digital, only two states (0 and 1) are allowed. In the decimal system, only ten states (0 through 9) are allowed.
Q6: Design in which a guide bushing or bushings are fitted into the body, bonnet, and/or bottom flange so as to guide a plug's post.

What is Type X, Type Y, Type Z Purge/Pressurization types & their Difference?
What is Purging?
Purging/pressurization systems permit the safe operation of electrical/electronic equipment under hazardous conditions when approved hazardous location equipment is not part of the application or the equipment
is rated but to a lesser hazardous location than is present.Purging is defined as a process of supplying a flow of clean air or an inert gas to the inside of an enclosure or motor to reduce hazardous internal airborne impurities to an acceptable safe level.
Which are the standards which describe the Purging Principals?
There are a few standards regarding purge and pressurization. Within North
America these are:
• NFPA 70 – National Electrical Code, Article 500
• NFPA 496 – Purged and Pressurized Enclosures for Electrical Equipment 1996 Edition
• ISA 12.4-1996 -- Pressurized Enclosures
• UL 698 – Industrial Control Equipment for use in Hazardous Locations, Class I, Gr. A, B, C, D and Class II, Gr. E, F, G
• CSA C22.1 Part 1 – Canadian Electrical Code
In Europe the following standards are to be considered:
• IEC 79-2
• EN 50016

Thermowell
When fluid flows past a thermowell inserted into a pipe or duct, vorticies form at both sides of the well. These vorticies detach, first from one side, and then from the other. This phenomenon is known as the Von
Karmann effect. The frequency of shedding of these vortices is a function of the diameter of the thermowell,
the fluid velocity and, to a lesser extent, the Reynolds number.
